Whoa! Happy Holidays! I can't believe it's the end of the year. I have been SO busy. I am pretty cool - I sit up now, all by myself, for a real long time. I play with my toys, and pet my woof woof. I try to pet my meow meow, but he's a little elusive. Sometimes I get a good handfull of his soft fur and smile at him though. I think we'll be good friends. And I know woof woof and I will be friends. She likes to lick my face, and my feet and hands. It makes me laugh.

So, I've been sitting in my Exersaucer a lot. It's fun, and I can watch daddy and mommy cook and do other silly stuff.

Up until recently I was allowed to have fun on the ottoman, but I'm so mobile lately I can't be on there much anymore. So here's me chilling on the ottoman:

I went on a road trip for Thanksgiving and met a bunch of awesome people from Dad's family. Then the next day Mommy woke up early and was all like "DADDY, TIME TO DECORATE FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!" I went outside to supervise:

I did such a good job of supervising I got to pose for a few photos:

And OMG I am eating now. Rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots. I do it all. This is me in my high chair, after having a grand feast (and daddy cleaned my face):

I have a ton more pictures and stuff to talk about, but I know there's only so much cuteness any person can handle! So, stay tuned for more!! Kisses!

Wow, I've been so busy I've barely had time to update my world famous blog! What have I been busy with, you ask? Well, I spend a lot of time smiling and laughing. It's one of my favorite things to do! I only get fussy when I'm hungry, although I don't really like those middle-of-the-night diaper changes. The rest of the time I'm awake I love to smile!

I've learned to roll over both ways too, from my tummy to my back and my back to my tummy. It's fun to do! And I'm starting to play with some of the cool toys mom and dad have for me. I like to grab on to them, especially my bumblebee, and sometimes it's funny to put them in my mouth. I like to put my hands in my mouth too, and just about everything else! I crack myself up!

Daycare is pretty fun. They take good care of me there, and I never get scared. I know mom and dad will pick me up every day, and then we go home and do all sorts of stuff. I lie on the ottoman, and roll around. Some nights I get a bath, and I think that's pretty fun. Really I like to do anything, as long as it's with mom and dad!

Last weekend we went to some place called Portrait Innovations and I was the center of attention! I got to wear a few different outfits and do some modeling for the nice people there. Check it out!

There's a lot of pictures. I think these are some of my favorites, but I'll share more another time. Right now, I've got some smiling and rolling around to do! Chat with you all soon! Kisses!!

Keeping Mom and Dad busy!

Hello readers! So much has been going on, and I've realized I've been keeping mom and dad so busy they haven't had time to update my blog for you all. I've been growing a lot; I'm almost too big to fit into a lot of the clothes I started wearing when mom and dad brought me home!

I'm starting to settle into a pretty predictable sleep pattern too. I usually call it a night around 8:30 or 9, and then I snooze until 2:00 when I get hungry and wake mom or dad up. Then it's back to sleep until 5, a little snack, and I usually start stirring to get my day started around 7.

And I've been smiling A LOT! It's fun to smile. Mom and dad make me smile cuz they make funny faces, and sing to me. And they read my favorite books to me and tickle my nose. So much stuff makes me smile. Being a baby is awesome.

We've been going out a lot too - we go to the store, to see our friends, to go shopping, to go downtown to festivals or the farmer's market. It's fun, mostly because everyone tells me how beautiful I am!

A few weeks ago we went to downtown Bloomington for Hot August Nights, but we went during the day which I thought was funny. Anyway, it WAS hot! I got to wear my cool sunglasses:

And daddy put a cold washcloth on my head when I got hot:

I love those sunglasses! Soooooo, here's another picture!

I get to cuddle a lot with mommy. She has to go back to work next week, and I'm going to daycare where I will meet all sorts of new friends and learn things. But I'm still making the most of the time I get her to myself:

But when daddy is home I'm all over him too! This is right after he got a bad haircut, and mommy said he was lopsided. I thought that was pretty hilarious! (You can see sister woof-woof in this picture too; she's funny, and has soft fur):

Mom and dad have SO MANY pictures and movies of me. Daddy said he needed a whole day off if he is to ever get them all uploaded to the Web, but you can see a lot of other pictures of me here.

I'll make sure daddy is better about updating this blog too! I think I have him wrapped around my little finger. :)

Social Butterfly

Hi faithful readers! I've made so many new friends in the past few weeks; it's been so much fun! More of that in a moment.

I've been growing a lot, and mom and dad have remarked on how much more I'm awake now, and how I'm starting to notice more things around me all the time. We've had lots of story times and tummy times, and just this past weekend daddy brought my new swing up from the basement so I can sit and swing while they eat dinner. It's pretty fun to swing back and forth and listen to music while they eat.

So, here are some of the people I've had the chance to visit with lately; some I already met, but some others were brand new to me!

First we took a trip up to Lexington to visit Grandma and Grandpa, and I got to meet grandma's sisters!

This is mommy's Aunt Sherry:

And this is Aunt Skip:

Aunt Joyce:

And Aunt Kay!

Of course I spent time with Grandma too:

And I got to pose for a photo with mom and dad, and another with them and Grandma and Grandpa too!

And here's a picture of me with mom and dad's friend Lyn! She's the one who will have a friend for me to play with soon!

Whew! I'm starting to like posing for pictures, but it does wear a girl out! So, more later!

My weekend

What a fun weekend! For the first time, I got to go to a grocery store. It was pretty cool, lots of lights and sounds and smells. I also got to go to a place called Chevy's where mom and dad had lunch with some friends. That was fun too! It smelled like Mexican food, which mom and dad really seem to like. They didn't take any pictures at those places, but they were very happy to see that I had a good time and behaved well.

Then on Saturday daddy got stung by a wasp. I wasn't outside when it happened, but he came in all sweaty and stinky and saying words I hadn't heard before. And then we had a bunch of people over. I guess they're friends with mommy and daddy, but Saturday they were all there to see me! Everybody held me and played with me and told me how beautiful I am. Aunt Abby fed me, and Aunt Tina, Ruth, Karen and Anita held me for a long time. Then Aunt Lyn showed up and held me too; I think soon she's going to have a friend for me to play with. Here are a few pictures from that day. Mom and dad didn't take many because they were busy with everyone:

We did lots of other stuff too. We went for a walk, and sat out in the backyard with Woof Woof doggie and Meow Meow kittie. But my favorite thing to do on the weekend? Chill. That's right, chill:

Pooh hands!

This is my favorite sleeper. It's got Winnie the Pooh hands. I like to hold them by my face so I know Pooh is always near.

See? There's Pooh!!

Going out!

This is mommy and me. We're going to a class called "The Happiest Baby on the Block." It was fun, because daddy gave me a massage and then I slept almost all day. Must learn how to weasel more massages out of daddy . . . .

Tummy Time!

Mom thought it would be a good idea to have tummy time this evening. It's supposed to help develop my muscles. Sometimes I think it's fun, and daddy rubs my legs and back and that feels good. But tonight I was a little worn out.

Mom and dad laughed at me, said something about waking up. I'm like, yeah, right. Make me!

So, like yeah. Wake me up when there's something else to do. Like eat. Or dirty another diaper, ok?

Welcome to our new blog! This will be a continuation of the journey we began here. Sophie Rayne is now one week and two days old, and is doing wonderfully. She eats, sleeps, dirties diapers, yawns, and loves to look at mom and dad and out the window. She's learning to enjoy tummy time, as long as she can stay awake for it. More to come, so stay tuned for the wonderful journey of mom, dad, and little Sophie!
